Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company within a short time. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied sometimes on free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father, who was a drunk at times too much, and treated her mother in a manner that was disrespectful and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran struggled at school and discovered later that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed numerous classes in her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
